Stop being a perfectionist

Hey there! It's great to have you here. I want to share something with you that's been on my mind lately. Have you ever been in a creative rut? I know I have. In fact, I've been stuck in one for nearly a year. It's been frustrating, to say the least. But I've finally made a decision that I think will help me get out of it. I'm letting go of my perfectionism and just doing what I love again.

Have you ever struggled with perfectionism? It's a common trait among creative people. We want everything we create to be perfect, and we're often our own worst critics. But the truth is, nothing is ever truly perfect. There will always be something we could have done better, something we could have improved. And that's okay.

That's why I've decided to embrace the saying, "Better done than perfect." It's a reminder that it's better to finish something, even if it's not perfect, than to never finish it at all. And you know what? The more I've started to live by this saying, the more I've found myself enjoying the creative process again.

So, what about you? Are you in a creative rut? Are you struggling with perfectionism? Maybe it's time to let go of that need for perfection and just start creating. Who knows? You might just surprise yourself with what you're capable of when you're not holding yourself back. Let's do this together!

I've also heard the phrase "it's not perfect, but it's better." "Better" meaning "started" in this case.

I think that can be applied here as well, especially for SaaS. Getting a project started by any measure is better than bike-shedding the idea another day.

It could apply to any level really. Not every session you spend on your business/creative project/ etc.. has to be an entire feature or thing. Just move the needle forward a little bit each time.

As a fellow creative, this is the best advice. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.

Yes, perfection is the enemy of completion.

For me its been few years lol.

Hard time actually doing the work, I prefer to "think" how to do x thing the best way and end up wasting a lot of time and being in my own head.

Is there any specific thing that "makes" you stop thinking more and make you "just do it"??

      For me.

      1. Write down all your thoughts first to make your mind clearly.
      2. Pick one, the most important target and break down it into peaces (to-do list).
      3. And start do it from the smallest. (This will create momentum to do the rest).

      This always works for me.
