Stop deleting "phased-out" Schema. It’s actually 95% more useful for AI than for Google.

The "Rich Result" era is dying, but the "Entity Context" era is just beginning.

I see a lot of builders and SEOs stripping out Schema markup the moment Google announces they are phasing out a specific visual "badge" or "star rating." If you’re doing this, you’re making a huge mistake for 2026.

I just finished a deep dive into the Utility Index of Phased-Out Schema, and the results are counter-intuitive:

Google Visual Impact: ~15% (Yes, it's low. Google is cleaning up the SERP).

AI/LLM Training Context: 95% (Critical).

Voice Search (Siri/Alexa): 85%.

Alternative Engines (Bing/DuckDuckGo): 75%.

The Takeaway for Founders:
Google’s UI changes are a distraction. LLMs (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) use structured data as a "cheat sheet" to understand exactly what your product or content is without having to guess through messy HTML.

If you remove your JSON-LD because Google stopped showing a "Rich Snippet," you are essentially turning off the lights for the AI agents that are supposed to be recommending your site.

The Strategy:
Don't optimize for the "Badge." Optimize for the "Connection." Keep your structured data intact—it’s the documentation for the robots that now control 80% of your potential discovery.

I’ve broken down the full data and the 2026 utility index here:

What are you guys doing with your structured data? Are you still chasing Google's visual badges, or are you building for the LLM crawl?
