Stories like “a developer built a cancer vaccine for his dog”…

That’s exactly why I love being part of the Indie Hackers community.

There’s always something interesting here:
new products, weird ideas, unexpected approaches.
This is where I first learned about tools like Claude, AI startups, and all these new possibilities.

I want to share something that might not be obvious:

👉 AI is massively accelerating academic careers.

If you ever dreamed of becoming:

  • a biologist
  • a physicist
  • an astronomer

— now is probably the best time in history to try.

You don’t need a lab to start.
You need an idea.

Here’s my current workflow:

You get an idea / hypothesis
Check if it already exists (ChatGPT / Claude are surprisingly good at this)
If it’s new → write a paper

My results so far:

3 papers written “manually”
6 papers written with Claude

Outcome:

2 manual papers published
5 Claude papers currently in peer review

👉 So yeah… AI is actually not bad at this.

(And hot take: ChatGPT is worse for academic writing than Claude )

Now the part where I try to recruit you all:

👉 consider working on longevity / aging

Yes, I know — many people are skeptical.
But think about it this way:

If we manage to significantly extend lifespan,
you don’t just get more life —

👉 you get more time to build, fail, and build again.

More startups. More experiments. More chances.
