Today I finished the first version of the website and app for my new app: Strest.
Visit the landing page: strest.io
While there are already some SaaS services that already help you with load testing your application, most of the time it is overkill, some times you only need to put some pressure on your server in order to find bugs and memory leaks, that is why I created the open source app, you download it, start firing, no account required, everything runs locally on your machine.
There is occasionally the need for more concurrency, more bandwith or maybe you want to make load testing part of your CI, that is why the plan is to integrate the free app with a SaaS backing, right now I want to test the traffic and to see how much of a demand is there for such an approach, as stated there are already services doing this, but I hope to undercut them by winning developer support with the open source app and by bootstraping the service.
I must start to build the SaaS now, I estimate it will take me at least a couple of weeks until I can have a MVP version of it and then it will be the time to heavily promote this, in the meantime, feedback or maybe someone who wants to partner up to take care of marketing would be interesting.
Cheers and thanks!
Hey @ospfranco congrats on putting the site up, Here is a review I did https://www.loom.com/share/78a72dcff8d34735a7dfc4e27664f07f
I am willing to contribute on the design front as strest is an opensource project, let me know your thoughts.
Cheers!
Hey! thanks a lot, yes, for sure I need help with the design, that was just a quick first iteration since right now I'm focusing on building the SaaS so I can pay for it.
Feel free to design the page, you can send it to me at ospfranco@protonmail.com and I will put your name on the footer for people to see who designed it :)
