Stripe is giving us the boot. We need a new payment processor

So, after a few months with stripe they have decided to give us the boot as they don't work with phone services. Why it took them so long to figure out what we do I have no idea as it's plainly stated on our website. We offer disposable phone numbers for phone verification. Phone Services.

Actually is very surprising to see how many "high risk" businesses they don't deal with. When you read the full list of business categories that Stripe don't cater for, it turns out to be the majority of businesses out there. They only in point of fact work with a small select group of industries.

Now we find our selves in the unfortunate position that we need a new payment processor. I am upset about this, because up to this point I was very happy with Stripe.

This is a shout out to the indie hacker community.

Can anyone recommend another payment processor for Textita?

That website looks truly awful, the primary target market of this product seems to be the scumbag scam artists who create fake accounts to spread spam and misinformation on platforms.

No terms of service, no legal entity, no legal details, no cover for GDPR or California privacy laws.

I mean there is a high level of yikes all over your business model and presentation at the moment.

We just renovated and moved into our new office on Thanksgiving. A few odds and ends are still being finished up so that may be why you saw that.

We are fully operational. I can set up a time to speak with you over the phone. I funny enough came across this article in my Google news as I keep up to date in my industry. Would love to talk and make the most of an unexpected opportunity.

    Did you get many disputes/chargebacks?

I imagine a percentage of people with bad intentions (and using stolen CC) may use the service.

Also, the webpage looks a bit scammy, many typos and there is no ToS/Privacy Policy/business information which is a must for all payment processors - Mastercard/Visa enforces this requirement. Therefore, it is not a surprise that after a human review they decided to close your account.

Processors can get you an auth.net gateway cheaper than 25 a month, and offer way lower rates.

      1. 1

Yes, I use authorize.net and pay $10 a month (in addition to the %).

        1. 1

Yeah, it is the percentage that kills you. It's whole percentages. We price .05 to .50% and $.05 per transaction with a $10 monthly fee. If you sign up right now with Auth.net without a merchant account to process the payment and want Auth.net to do it, it is 25 a month, 2.9% and $.30 per transaction. I can destroy that, while offering invoicing, ach, business loans, gift and loyalty cards as well as better tech and customer support. You and I can also have a discussion and I can give you way better solutions that are more cost effective for your business for just as good, if not better, support. As I said, we are #1 in one of the most high risk industries and a leader in several others. My email is [email protected].

Braintree thinks that all* SaaS businesses are risky, so no chance switching to Braintree either. :)

      *- they have exceptions.
