Stripe + Portuguese Tax Authority

Does anyone has any experience using Stripe Billing in Portugal?

Right now, every time I get a payment on Pluckd's subscriptions, I have to open an accounting software authorized by the Portuguese Tax Authority, register the payment manually so that will be able to export the data in a format called SAF-T. Then I send it to my accountant who sends it to the government.

It's a process begging to be automated, but the hitch is the Portuguese Tax Authority's seal of approval.

Does anyone know of an accounting product that works in Portugal and integrates with Stripe Billing?

3 Years later, I face the same problem. Any new solution in 2024?

Did anyone find an easy solution to this? If not would it work to use Zapier?

    Hi guys,

We're facing the exact same issue here. Any updates on this? Or any other payment services that could do this (Ive been looking at easypay.pt for instance, but doesnt look like they have this either)?

Im also leaning towards building an integration that creates an invoice in our accounting program (invoiceExpress). From invoiceExpress its possible to generate SAF-Ts.

There are services like Paddle that can do this song and dance, but their subscription features are rudimentary.

Myself, I'm still doing everything by hand (it's not like Pluckd took off).

Based on the interest this old thread is getting, and the lack of any solutions in almost one year, I was really considering gathering up a group of Portuguese indiehackers so we can create a serveless app that connects Stripe's hooks with whatever APIs the current account softwares du jour have.

Havent heard about Paddle, checked it out now. Cool, but waaay overkill for only one feature.

Might be cool to build something and open source it! We still havent set the design yet, but I'll post here if we land on something similar.
Another aspect is that since SAF-T is the new EU standard, a lot more companies will have use for this after a while. So more services directed towards this is likely to appear I guess.

Indeed, just moved to Portugal (from Canada) and will definitively have to learn some of this at some point...

I'm facing a similar situation, I'm thinking of choosing another company, maybe https://www.kevin.eu/pt-pt/ or Stripe, I'm still deciding which is the better choice.

    Hi Fernando,

I'm facing the same problem during the last months.
Even the accounting software are providing any integration with Stripe at least to fetch the invoice and receipts.

Did you find any better way to do it?

Right now I'm still doing everything by hand, as the Pluckd still haven't seen much traction.

However, I'm a little more optimistic... Just figured out how Stripe webhooks work. If I had a free month, I'm more confident I could build some kind of integration myself.

I'm using Stripe webhooks already for other things. I'll try to do that by this weekend.

What accounting software are you using? Wanted to check if there is an API for creating invoices and receipts... Not sure if the one I'm using has that feature

I'm using Sage One. They have an API, but I haven't touched it yet:
