Struggling to Get Customer Calls as a Founder? Here's What Worked for Me

When I first started my startup, I was only getting around 2 customer calls per week and struggling to validate my product idea. I wanted to share a few simple things that helped me increase that number significantly within a couple months.

The main changes I made:

  • Spent more time on outreach instead of product dev
  • Crafted personalized messages focused on helping people instead of "salesy" pitches
  • Reached out on targeted channels like Reddit and Slack groups where my customers were already active
  • Asked for introductions from early calls to expand my network

The most important thing was talking to customers early and often. Getting their feedback directly let me refine both my product and messaging to really resonate with them.

If you're not getting enough customer conversations as a founder, I'm happy to chat more about what worked for me. I know how frustrating it can be to feel like you're working hard but not getting traction. Feel free to join founderscafe.io
