Hey Guys,
I just setup a landing page (https://productpanda.io) for an idea I want to test, but I am not quite sure about the copy.
At the moment I don't describe any features because the product is still in idea stage and no features exist yet.
I could create some mockups for features I plan to integrate but I am not sure what features will really make it into the product.
Should I still add mockups to give people a better idea about how it could look like?
What questions do you have after reading the landing page copy?
Any other feedback?
Hey,
my 2 cents:
Good luck!
Hey Kevin,
As your ideal user, I wouldn't necessarily know what exactly you're offering or what type of problem you're solving for me. I'm currently setting up another online business, and before I launch anything, I spend anywhere from a few days to a few weeks trying to figure out my customer segments, value proposition, key resources and a few other things. If I were you I'd take a look at building and rebuilding a lean model canvas, writing down everything. From that, is where you get most of your copy to put on your landing page your email etc. You should already have a crystallized first version of your idea before you launch anything. Before I launch any online shop, I have worked through a few lean canvases, my target customers, ad campaign setup, email triggers And remarketing all waiting to be turned on. From that it's about gathering data and tweaking.
In your case, I'm assuming you want feedback/early sign ups. Here's what I would do:
Value proposition: what few pain points does my products solve and how does it make the customers life better (productivity increase, financial savings) - CLEARLY DEFINED
Customer segments: who are my ideal customers
Behavior: what are they doing online. Searching for, browsing through
Marketing: there is a lot of ways to get feedback both paid and free. Simply going on Reddit or LinkedIn, Facebook groups as well as running targeted ads on these platforms
Here's an example of an iterative customer segment finding:
Product managers -> Product managers in SaaS companies -> Product managers in health care SaaS companies -> Product managers in health care SaaS companies with less than 100 people etc.
Good luck to you and I hope you are able to accomplish your goal
Thanks for your detailed feedback. You are right, that I should not skip the fundamental things like BMC. I just prefer to get something out in the world but will take some time and fill out the BMC and VPC.
Yeah I totally understand I've felt that way allot of times. But more so than not, if we don't take take the time to fill in the gaps we deal with frustrations, money/time spent that we could have saved. Remember, the ones who succeed are the ones who come to a definite decision and take calculated risks. Filling something out like the Business model canvas, or the lean model canvas is a part of the calculation
100% agree. I would say you can discover gaps in your thinking in many different ways (e.g. by directly jumping into it) but the MBC or Lean Canvas are an efficient way to start.
Thanks man!

Looks good. Who is it for?
Hey,
it's a tool to do product management differently. Instead of the commonly used kanban board with a backlog, teams shape their raw ideas into pitches, which then are voted / bet on by important stakeholders in the company, to decide what the team works on during their next sprint.
