My Product Hunt landing will be https://freebies.bypeople.com/ I'm improving here and there but the deadline is coming. What would you keep, what you won't?
The inital screen and animation is amazing.
The freebie list feels a little crowded, but I wouldn't know what to change.
I would prefer if the search/category menu on the left would stay sticky on the top left of the list. Currently it is in the middle. It just feels buggy and not intentional (what it probably was)
When you click on a category you jump to the top of the page, which kind of interrupts the flow for me. If you could apply these filters without having the user jump to the top it would be much better in my opinion.
Hey @scholz many thanks for taking a look π
Yeah, you're right, I'm feeling the same about the "top jump" on the categories.
I'm still struggling to decide what to do, if you have ever checked a good example I'll appreaciate a lot if you could share π
I'm not sure how I would approach it myself. The only quick-and-dirty solution I can think of right now would be to use an anchor tag at the top of the freebie list. So you could link to e.g. https://freebies.bypeople.com/icons#list, which would reload the content and should(?) also jump to the top of the list.
In your case you could try to use the id of the sidebar #aside-bar, but I don't know if this will really work. I guess it will depend on how the router behaves in the background.
Looks awesome. How did you do the illustrations?
A couple of comments :
Many thanks @girishw! Creating these illustrations was really cool because we had a mixed crew of designers & developers on both the illustration itself and animating it using the SVG's properties.
Also thanks a lot for the feedback it is very useful to us :)
Animation on the first screen is very pretty!
@grinko Glad you liked it π€
Really nice job! Clean and to the point. Only thing I would change is the font-weight in the side bar. It's too heavy and steal attention from the main content a bit. Hope it helps a little.
Hey @lukaspapay , many thanks for your help! I will definitely test a lighter font version π¨βπ§
Hello, here's my feedback:
Aside these points that I think worth an improvement, the message was pretty clear and navigation pretty easy.
Hey @FrederikB thanks a lot for taking the time on visiting! π
That's a good eye-catch, sometimes is difficult to adjust the most accesible background tones because of the different screen resolutions that we still need to test.
