Hey all,
My friend and I were thinking about working on a solution to a problem we face as students who spend a lot of time in front of the monitor and was wondering what your thoughts would be on a chrome extension that provides reminders to drink water, take breaks, and possibly exercises to improve posture, wrist pain, or eye fatigue.
The idea is designed to be lightweight and non-invasive because ultimately, all we need is just a reminder sometimes.
These exercises, tasks, and practices would be designed to combat common conditions that can arise from long hours spent at a computer, both in the short and long term.
We see it as an "assistant" that allows you to allocate all your efforts to get the best grade, while we make sure you can still manage your wellbeing.
The concerns we have are if the problem is worth exploring in the first place, if people would be put off by a notification system, or if it's simply too gimmicky. Would love to hear any and all feedback. Please critique away!
I dunno, I struggle to keep using apps that remind me to away from the screen every twenty minutes.
The most difficult part will be not being annoying . Notification systems are notoriously not user friendly.
That being said, many people have trouble managing both their productivity and healthy habits, so it's definitely something that has a use-case.
