Researchers devise iPhone malware that runs even when device is turned off

Research is largely theoretical but exposes an overlooked security issue.

Apparently, your iPhone goes into low power mode when you turn it off. And that means your iPhone can be exploited — you can be tracked and malware can do its thing for about 24 hours. That's not great. 😱
