Subbit.pro is Live — My Build in Public Journey

Hey Indie Hackers,

I just shipped Subbit.pro  — a playful tool that helps you search Reddit smarter. Instead of scrolling for hours, you just “Subbit it” and the AI fetches the most relevant subs, posts, and threads, it does and will do much more than this but we are only at the start of this journey.

What It Does So Far

Your AI sidekick finds people genuinely talking about problems you can solve, figures out who's actually ready to buy, and serves up perfectly qualified leads with all the juicy context — no more endless scrolling required! Well its on the web so there's always a little scrolling ;-)

Why I Built It

Reddit is a goldmine of insight, but the search experience is… painful, as is keeping your leands and comments organised. I kept thinking: “There’s got to be a way to surface the good stuff without rabbit holes and wasted time.”

So I hacked together a simple AI search assistant. What started as a weekend experiment has now turned into Subbit, complete with a mascot, a shiny new site, and a growing roadmap.

Build in Public Vibes

I’m building Subbit openly, and I’d love feedback from this community. Some of the early challenges I’ve been wrestling with:

  • Choosing the name (Subbit won over “ThreadLens” and “SubScout”)

  • Landing a domain (ended up grabbing Subbit.pro after .com was gone)

  • Balancing playful branding with something credible

  • Making sure Reddit users see it as a companion tool, not a spammy scraper

What’s Next

  • Improve result filtering (less noise, more gems)

  • Explore visualisations for subreddit trends

  • Add alerts so you don’t miss new conversations in your niche

Call to Action

👉 Try it here: Subbit.pro
👉 Tell me what you’d love to see next.

This is just the start — I’ll keep sharing updates as Subbit grows, pivots, and probably stumbles a bit along the way. Thanks for following along.

This tool looks super useful! I’m very active on Reddit, so Subbit.pro could be a game-changer for me. Is it free? I just entered my email, but it seems like it’s still in pre-launch or beta. Really keen to see it go live!

Hey, thanks for your support and interest, I honestly didn't realise how much positive feedback I would bet here on IH and its been amazing. I am building it in public which has been a game changer, I am posting all updates here on IH and on a Subbit community page of Reddit too for bug reporting and more feature requests, so it would be great for you to join me there too.

      https://www.reddit.com/r/Subbit/

Whilst its live on the site I am only letting a few people in at a time to test features for me, and provide feedback and bugs etc. I have you on the list now and will ping out an invite to you soon too, anyone who helps out will get the account for free. Yes there will be a paid tier but the free offering is going to be quite generous too.

      Thanks again.

this looks super promising, rob. as a saas content writer, i can already see the value for founders and makers who spend hours sifting through reddit threads. love that you are building in public and gathering feedback — excited to see how it evolves and to try it myself!

Hey, thank you, the beta testing is now open for quite a few of the features, just head over to the site and register. https://subbit.pro

New feature is learning your Reddit Vibe and Reddit Health which we've just rolled out in beta.

Love how Subbit turns all that noise into actual signal (and even leads!). The branding feels fun but still useful, and it is cool to see how you are thinking about staying on Reddit’s good side too.

Thanks so much! That balance of fun + useful is exactly what I was aiming for. Reddit’s a powerful space if you treat it with respect, so I’ve been really focused on making Subbit a tool that helps discover opportunities without crossing lines.

Is there any way to quick-start, quick check it? I registered - then there is connecting account, then lots of steps on campaign start.

I would suggest that you create a quick loom video just showing what can be done with the tool in reality.

I love the idea as yes, Reddit is goldmine, but using it effectively is always a challenge. a minefield of sorts.

Thanks Dainis, I noticed the registration too. The quick start loom video is a good idea that I will 100% add to the app. As I am building in public there are a few areas that I am working through, latest is the option to search by Competitors, you add your competitors and then get lead opportunities. My plan is to build in more quick starts as the app becomes more defined and the steps are simplified, otherwise I will keep repeat building videos instead of working on the app. But i love you feedback and really appreciate anything more you would like to add.

This is super cool—I’ve always found Reddit search to be frustrating, so subbit pro feels like a much-needed fix. Love the playful branding too, it makes it approachable instead of “just another tool.” Excited to see how you evolve it with alerts and trend visualizations!

Hey thanks for the message, somehow i missed this 4 days ago, sorry about that.

Nice to hear that you like the ideas and branding, I've just opened the door for beta testing phase for some of the features, so head over to https://subbit.pro and register, I would love your feedback.

Looks great! a Chrome extension with saved searches and alerts would be super handy too ;)

I’ll add it to the road map :-)

Nice! Hope it will help Subbit

Oh and btw, we could partner up. Me and my team are building HustleAdvisor, a social network where entrepreneurs share practical step by step lessons. If you join the waitlist and later post a short write up about building Subbit, we will boost it in the main feed so more people see it :)

        You get: more users

We get: an entrepreneur on board

        Good luck with the project!
