Substack with custom domain (it's possible?)

Hey everyone 👋

I thought it wasn't possible to use Substack with a custom domain (their own FAQ even says so).

Yet looking at A Media Operator, it looks like he's done it.

Does anyone know how?

Cheers 🙂

    Another example: https://lennyrachitsky.com

It must be turned on by Substack on a case-by-case basis. As you mention, they don't have it as a public option, and I bet they never will (the .substack.com subdomains are crucial to them).

That makes sense, thanks. I imagine a lot of Substack users would happily pay for the option of using a custom domain, but Substack is probably prioritizing growth over revenue right now (?) If this is true, maybe they'll open it up as an option in the future.

If Revue is equally acceptable for your needs, they let you create a custom domain with a paid plan. No restrictions.

Why not just buy a domain and point it to substack?

Also check Not Boring. Packy created a landing page for the newsletter: https://notboring.email/

You can't even see that he's using Substack.

      That's another option.
