Success Stories or Failure Stories? + [ POLL ]

I used to like success stories. They’re inspiring and motivating. They give you the energy you need to keep pushing and climbing, especially when you enter that dark tunnel of doubt (we’ve all been there) and then start looking for something (like a Success Story, of course) to inspire you and tell you that: “You too can do it”. You get your batteries charged with energy and motivation, you continue your adventure to only enter again in the same tunnel and lock yourself in this vicious circle.

In this case, Success Stories are more like drugs. When things go wrong with your project or when you’re lazy to finish it, you need to read/listen to more to “get high” again, but in the end, the journey is, and still, so long. You feel like a hamster in its wheel.

Well, that’s one of the reasons why I start to prefer Failure Stories to Success ones, and here are some more reasons:

Failure Stories are more realistic
Unlike a Success Story where everything is pinky and far from reality, the Failure Story punches you straight in the face to wake you up before it’s too late and makes you prepared for the real hustle world that’s waiting for you out there.

Maybe you’ve already been there
And that’s a self-comfort you get knowing that you are not alone. That takes some weight off your shoulders. Psychically, it’s healthy.

Don’t make the same mistake(s)
It’s like saying: “Don't reinvent the wheel”. Someone did that for you. So, don’t waste your time. Just avoid making the same mistake(s).

Make the right choices
You keep learning from others' struggles and problems they faced and how did they deal with those issues. It’s a treasure of knowledge to make you choose the right decision to avoid a killer mistake that can end your dream.

So what about you? What do you prefer? Success story or Failure story?
Please, tell why and let us know what do you think.

Failure Stories > Success Stories but I prefer No Stories.

Those who are selling the stories makes us believe those are valuable. That's utter non-sense. If I'm going to get inspired, I'd go and listen to Elon Musk's story. He started with a software company going to Mars know, owning 9% of Twitter.

    I'd listen to Bezos, Buffet...

Why on earth should I listen who barely makes $10K/month. Even if the all stars align and I manage to do whatever they teach me, the max is $10K. 10K if I listen and execute them step by step.

If success stories works in some magical way, I'd listen to Elon, even if I can follow his advises %0.001. I'd probably make more than 10K right?

So instead of stories, come us with facts, numbers, real experience.

I spent $1K on facebook ads and generated $3K on this product.
    I spent $200 on betalist, 100 visits, 10 sign-ups.
I created an e-book as a magnet and generated 1K visits out of 3K twitter followers.
I put 10 templates to this marketplace and made this much bla bla bla...

    See no fluff, 100% value.

Thanks for taking time to reply :)

Yes, I see your point and I agree with you.

But, for me, here’s how I see both:
Success story → Hard to replicate so it's just for inspiration and motivation.
Failure story → Real facts and practical don'ts (things to avoid).

So, it's up to you how you're gonna get the value from each one, cause in the end, a story without value is useless.
