Suggestions for NEW no-code software tailored towards Developers

I'm currently working on a drag and drop designer (similar to Webflow) that exports clean code specifically for Vue (maybe React in future).

I'm open to suggestions and questions.

What I consider that is similar to your goals is Wappler.io. They have the frontend and backend. Backend is PHP-based.

Also, I just discovered Midtype, but they are closing in March '20. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86wBAW3RqjU

This looks pretty cool. Have you used it? It would be nice if someone did research for all tools like this and wrote it as a blog post. It would be very useful I think to other people looking to build something similar but with a different feature set.

No. I haven't tried it. But I found this while researching tools for frontend UI development as a backend developer. For that, I drilled it down to Webflow, Wappler and Pinegrow.

The pro version of pingrow looks really good. It's actually cheaper than webflow and now I'm wondering if it is better. A lot of fun tools these days but not enough actual reviews and use case studies for them.

What was the criteria for the drilldown?

For me, I am looking for a tool to help me with frontend dev. Capabilities, ease of use, responsive design.

Hi! I would suggest supporting fetching data from a REST or GraphQL APIs to use on the components you generate. Webflow is great as a CMS, but not so much if you want to build a more complex app.

I am currently working on a no-code platform for creating REST or GraphQL APIs for communities and social apps.
I would love to see a service that helps people create a great looking frontend given an existent API.

Thank you for your suggestion, I will defiantly look into adding 3rd party API integration. At the current stage it exports Vue Components that can be implemented in your favorite vue framework (Nuxt, Electron, etc).

I've been using webflow and really liking it. What advantage would your tool have over webflow? I'm asking because I could be a potential user but I mostly work on the backend and I would want to know how using Vue would be better than webflow. If there were a few use cases you could outline and show the benefits then I think I'd be more likely to use your tool. I'd want to know how easy it would be to customize the exported code mostly.

Like I want to do frontend stuff but I'm not really interested in learning the entire framework. Does your tool require understanding the intricacies of Vue or could someone with just backend experience also use it productively?

The reason I built this app is because I wasn't happy with Webflow. I expected Webflow to innovate their code export but instead they focused on the CMS. The main benefit is that I'm focusing on the "Code Export" instead of a CMS, alongside having front-end framework integration (Vue.js and eventuality React).

Currently the code that is generated is a Vue Component with clean HTML, and CSS. If you don't want to use Vue then you easily copy the HTML, and CSS out.

If you have an idea that you would like implemented please let me know. Thank you :)

One thing I don't like about code export from webflow is that I don't think it has an API (or at least I haven't looked to see if it has an API). If exporting could be automated then I could deploy the code automatically with some scripts. Right now I do it manually by exporting the zip file and then copying and extracting it on the deployment server.

If you can make the export process amenable to automation then that will be an improvement over webflow.

First time hearing about it. We really should make a list of these with features and potential downsides. As a backend engineer this would really be useful to me. People keep mentioning interesting tools and it's the first time I'm hearing about them.

Does IH have a tools section with a list of tools like this?
