Support tools should not punish collaboration

Per-seat pricing often creates the wrong behavior for small support teams.

Every new teammate becomes a pricing decision. Founders, product, ops, and engineering may all need customer context, but per-seat pricing makes teams think twice before inviting them.

initdesk was built around a simple belief: support software should encourage collaboration, not make it more expensive.

It is an email-first AI help desk for solo founders and small teams, with unlimited users, unlimited inboxes, and AI included from $3.49/mo.

It turns support emails into tickets, drafts replies with AI for review, auto-tags requests, shows customer data in the ticket sidebar, and connects with Slack, Linear, webhooks, and a Help Center with AI chat.

initdesk launched on Product Hunt today, and the team would love feedback from other indie hackers:

Question: for small team SaaS, do you prefer flat pricing, usage-based pricing, or per-seat pricing?

  1. 1

The flat-pricing angle is strong because it connects directly to behavior. Per-seat pricing does not just raise cost; it changes who gets pulled into customer context. For small teams, that means support becomes isolated when it should be shared across founder, product, ops, and engineering.

I’d probably make that the main positioning: initdesk is not just a cheaper AI help desk. It is a collaboration-friendly support layer for small SaaS teams where everyone can see the customer without creating another billing decision.

One thing I’d watch is the name. initdesk makes sense for a help desk, but it feels a bit developer/tool-like. If this expands beyond tickets into customer context, AI replies, support ops, and product feedback loops, a cleaner workflow/platform brand like Xevoa.com could age better.
