http://socialbu.com

Hi there.
Suppose you recently built socialbu.com. How are you going to grow it?

and why would you not want to even imagine it?

Looks like you’re already doing a lot to grow.

You have a good mix of strategies:

    • Solving a real problem
    • Clear landing page
    • Blog
    • Social Proof — Testimonials and “Join over 500 businesses that trust us”
    • Freemium — A risk-free offer
    • Live chat & email
    • Affiliate program
    • Comparison Page

    Some things you could test:

    1. Niche

There are at least 86 competitors in this space. (Based on your comparison page.)

How can SocialBu be better for some people than the other tools? How can you stand out?

If I was looking for a tool in this space, I would choose Buffer. I’m more familiar with them and I don’t see any meaningful differentiation.

I'd make a list of possible niches and ask?

    • Where do these groups hang out? Can I reach them?
    • What keywords can I use to retarget my blog content towards them?
    1. Build Free Tools

    Examples:

Free tools are like content marketing but better. Users will likely return to these tools again and again without additional effort on your part.

    1. Target competitors’ customers

    Notion shamelessly targets Evernote users.

They offer credits for Evernote users switching to Notion. These users already have a note-taking habit, they’re just switching tools.

Notion also has an entire page comparing them to Evernote.

I don’t have evidence that Notion micro targets but they could go further by looking at Evernote’s social media followers and support forums.

This would be easier to do if you could communicate why you’re better or different than their current vendor.

    1. Paid Ads (CLV vs. CAC)

Ever looked at customer lifetime value and what you could afford to spend on customer acquisition?

    1. Deep Social Proof

Most SaaS companies have testimonials and/or well-known brand logos on their landing page.

Fewer have entire pages dedicated to customer success.

This helps prospects understand how similar companies are using your product.

    Examples:

As a education/construction/media company I want to see how other education/construction/media companies are using your product.

    1. Podcast Interviews

Which podcasts have audiences that overlap with your target audience?

    Examples:

Of all of these strategies, niching probably has the highest opportunity cost.

You can lower the cost by mixing niching with paid ads.

Build landing pages for two or three niches, drive traffic based on niche keywords and see which converts better.

Which existing strategies are working best for you right now?

Your comment is really helpful. I am going to share it with other co founders. Thanks a lot.

Currently, we get most conversions from organic searches (not alot though) and quora.
