Hey folks,
I'm building a job aggregator focused on remote programming jobs. One of the things I'd like to provide is a basic profile page for each company with job offers. I created a brief survey to learn about some of the criteria you consider when evaluating companies that offer remote positions. In the comments, please rate each criteria from 1 to 5 (1 = not considering at all, 5 = extremely important).
These are the things that came to my mind but feel free to add more! Thanks very much!
Modest suggestion - don't do the job aggregator based solely on remote - there are so many of those already. Instead focus on "total face time". Anyone can offer remote and then insist you have Zoom running all the time or be instantly available on Slack.
Unless you are a digital nomad or solely care about reducing commute time the real isssue is TFT - total face time.
Thanks for the answer! That's an interesting idea! So by "total face time" you mean the total time per day you need to be available for meetings, right (or you'd measure it differently)? Well, I'm not sure companies provide this information. Did you manage to obtain it (perhaps from a career or offer page, or by negotiating it on an interview)? Can you provide me some details?
You would need to further refine TFT and I don't think you would be able to get it with current data. Basically existing employees or people who interviewed would have to write a review of how asynchronous the culture is beyond mere physical location.
Glassdoor already allows searching by remote so just regurgitating public data is not enough.
