Some events change the stage of the customer (eg trial vs customer)
The CRM is where I store pretty much everything I'd need to know about a person. Mixpanel also deletes events after 30 days.
With findbetterquestions.com I store 'list created' events. That's enough to know how much someone is using the tool. So whenever I want to talk to someone I only need to look at the CRM and not Mixpanel to see their story.

Gandi for domains. Google Cloud, AWS, Digital Ocean and Heroku for hosting
I was starting to be a bit disappointing by Gandi, but their latest redesign is great. I think they also improved their processes, dropped username for emails, added two factor auth, etc. I'm staying with Gandi.
I had a weird situation the other day. It took over 3 days for my cname changes to propagate. I contacted their support though I'm not sure if they did something or not to resolve it
I don't use Gandi as a DNS server, just as a registrar.
Who do you use for DNS?
Mostly Cloudflare.
What are you doing that involves the use of Google Cloud, AWS, Digital Ocean and Heroku?
Different companies different hosting providers. I use one per company. AWS is my day job, Google Cloud is my side project/startup that I have listed on my profile, Digital Ocean is my personal site ($5 droplet with Dokku) and Heroku is for different projects I've worked on for other startups.
That makes sense. I could see using DO primarily, plus GC for firebase, plus a couple of AWS services but couldn't for the life of me think of a reason to justify Heroku.
AWS is the most mature of the bunch and as we are a listed company with very security conscious clients we need cloud providers who are compliant with a specific set of information security standard of which there are only a few.
I haven't really looked at DO in a long time. My site just sits there and runs indefinitely but I'm pretty sure they don't have half as many tools as the bigger providers. If you just want a linux box they are great though.
Yes we do use GC for firebase messaging (iOS and Android push notifications) and we also leverage App Engine because I don't want to waste energy dealing with infra at the moment.
Heroku is the same deal. Really good for Rails apps that want to deploy and leave run without worrying about.
I get that Heroku would be for your web app. What about the other 3? Im guessing Heroku would serve the purpose well right?

Google Domains for domains, mainly for easy sharing of domains and free email forwarders.

What do you mean by sharing of domains?
Basically, you can share responsibility of a domain (DNS, nameservers, etc.) with another Google account very much like you'd share a Google Doc.
So if you have clients that you're setting up websites for, they can share the domain with you so you can set their DNS records without having to give you their login.
I used to use Godaddy as a registrar. Of late, I've moved on to using Google Domains for most of my projects.
As for hosting, I use Digital Ocean for side-projects and Vultr if it needs a bare-minimum cheap server

I use Namecheap for the domains. As for hosting I use both Digital Ocean and AWS.
I like using a terminal when interacting with a server and I find that these hosting services give me that freedom to experiment as I get full control of a droplet or an AWS instance.
True. That's why I prefer DO too. Haven't tried AWS yet. How does it compare with Digital Ocean?
It's a bit more expensive, has a lot of ways to get free credits, has a worse UI and has a LOT of services.
I've mostly moved off of AWS in favor of DO but still use SES and a couple of other services.
I've used several domain registration providers, but namecheap is the only one I keep.
I've also used quite a lot of hosting providers. For shared hosts LunarPages is reliable and cheap -- I've been a customer for around two decades. But I'd recommend anyone get their own server. I use Rackspace Cloud for cloud servers and Amazon S3 for static hosting.
That's an interesting setup. I haven't tried LunarPages. Will give it a shot.
Lately we've been trying to focus on AWS.
Mainly because it allows us to easily manage domains and I find most domain providers to just have horrible UI & UX.
What domain management would you be doing? Like building suddomains, etc? And why does AWS make it easier?

And also the fact that i have a list of all domains in one place makes it easier for me to handle, a client recently bought 10 domains through me (or my company) and i could easily buy up to 7 domains in one go.
I know several others have the same functionality, i just so far despised the UI of the others :/
I recently transferred my domain from one.com and i actually had to contact support just to get the code to transfer the domain, i believe that AWS has such details available to us at all times.
Godaddy for domain registration, and landing page is currently on DigitalOcean, but will move to AWS once the site is live.
Why move to AWS?
Specifically because the file storage platform that I am working on - https://www.fileago.com would require certain AWS solutions to function - s3, lambda, sqs, and a k8s cluster to name a few.
