Swag giveaway for feedback on new site design πŸ‘•

Hey Indie Hackers πŸ‘‹

When I was first validating my idea, I intentionally didn't allow myself to get distracted building a unique product.

Now, after validating my idea, I've finally allowed myself to rebuild a more engaging version of the product.

Maker Threads is a minimalistic clothing label designed for passion makers.

As I'm working to serve the maker community, I'd absolutely love to get your candid feedback on the new store design. My goal is to make this product as relevant and valuable for makers as possible.

I'd be more than happy to give a shirt away to a random maker who shares any feedback - both good or bad πŸ™Œ

Hey Lachlan, first up, congrats on launching this!

    1. Free international shipping is always a yay!
    2. The mock-ups look high-quality and the overall aesthetic of the site is clean. I like it.
    3. Love the hover over effect where you can see the design a little closer
    4. The social proof seems a bit lacking in depth - two or three word quotes don't inspire confidence in the product. Try to have testimonials that mention value for money or overall satisfaction.
    5. You're missing a branding opportunity with the favicon (it's not set now)
    6. If you want to collect emails, "Don't Miss A Launch Day!" is not powerful enough to get people to drop something. Consider a discount code or special offer to make people part with their emails.
    7. Do you have sizing measurements? Big factor for me when buying clothes is trying to figure out what a size S or M is. If you are able to, setting up a section with a size table will be so helpful.

    Hope this feedback was useful!

This is incredible Janel, thanks for taking the time with this πŸ™

You make great points across the board. I'll work on adding everything this week.

    1. First thing I noticed once i scrolled down entire home page--the color of twitter icon
      ?!!
Users will be happy to see the original color.
    2. The store is all about tees -- but the option to select color is missing ?
Adding a color option in sync with sort by will be better.
    3. The site is simple and to the point --full points on that.
But that doesn't mean even testimonials should be so simple,it doesn't have pictures of people who gave the review which is not appreciable.
    4. Contact page doesn't have a form which is upto you, probably it helps you in avoiding spam and only serious people might contact.
But you can have an image/illustration just to give that feel to visitor instead of plain text.

This is all great feedback Sai!

Will be sure to work on adding these items this week.

      Appreciate it!

    1. I see only one big hero image of the t-shirt on the homepage which is folded and that's not very appealing. Please try to make a collage kinda picture with your top designed t-shirts, it should look very attractive.
    2. The product card design can definitely be changed to make it look more nice and informative instead of just 2 lines placed one below the other.
    3. For testimonial, if you can convince your buyers to tweet and then later on embed the tweet to your site, it can help better conversions. It instills confidence in the buyers.
    4. Add more attractive, nicely photo-shopped images of your product, like those big images.

      Awesome feedback, thanks!

Love the idea of embedded tweets. Slowly looking to add more UGC as I sell to more customers.

Free international shipping, but no pricing in Euro? Nitpicking here, but as a european, I'd like the prices to be available in EUR as well.
Another small detail: Why is the favicon missing?

Can never be too critical, appreciate the insights!

Shopify has a currency toggle available, but it sits at the bottom of the page. I'll see if I can reconfigure this to display at the top in plain sight.

      Genuinely appreciate the feedback πŸ™

Reviews and ratings are certainly on the roadmap. Just currently following up with the first users to get their submissions.

Love the strategy with Kraft! I had some ideas around giving away a free low-cost item like socks or stickers with any user-generated post.
