Switched to parttime job and started my own company!
I finally made it official: as of the 1st of July, I switched jobs to go work at a nice company as a Team Lead for 3x9 hours per week.
This gives me a 2 day window to be a home dad and work at my own company!
I've registered EEKAY ONLINE (www.eekayonline.com) and use my focussed time to pivot and build products (mobile apps and Saas products) AND I do remote consultancy to help others with their ideas, coding issues and advice on product development.
I have a background as a 15+ year developer (of whom 7 in mobile app development) and I was the tech lead at a startup for the past 2 years.
Time to go and build my own stuff and help others!
My first gig, consultancy for a Dutch medical mobile app's development team to help them make the right technical and functional choices and show them what's possible, is already ongoing. I love this and it gives me a lot of energy! 🙌🏻

Congrats! I think going part-time is a smart move when wanting more time to work on your own projects. It still provides a small safety net but hopefully motivates you enough to make progress on your projects and ship.
Nice pixel person! I made a hiking one similar to that a few years back. A suggestion, make it more noticeable that you can click on it. I just thought it was an image.

I really needed the space and I feel more focussed and actionable now things are "for real". It's as if I'm not sitting around the table with practice chips anymore, ya know?
