Switching from lifetime sales to monthly charging. SaaS

Turned out that selling SaaS lifetime subscriptions quiet easy - just launch it on LTD websites, such as dealify.com or if you very lucky - at appsumo.
However, after that we launched monthly subscription for our video-to-article conversion service YouPost (youpost.one) and now looking for the ways to attract users.
Any ideas on here to go or what to do?
Very much appreciate your attention!

@antongera I want to SEE your product in action on your landing page. Especially since it's all about going from video to article quick, would be great to have a video with a quick 15 sec demo right up front.

Seems like you're targeting 2 different use cases/audience:

    1. folks who do YouTube and want to turn their videos into articles (Me ;) )
    2. folks who want to consume video content via text summaries

I feel like the first use case is stronger from a "business perspective", number 2 feels more like a nice to have.

If I'm right about this, you need to find the communities and groups of people creating video content and engage with them there, help them however you can. From doing this you'll achieve 2 things:

    1. learn more about WHO your target audience is, the problems they have, how to speak their language
    2. you'll build an audience and credibility around someone who's genuinely helpful in this space - reciprocity is a strong way to get users and early feedback

      Superuseful, thanks!
I was actually thinking to put a free trial on the landing page along with the demo video.
Groups of people who creating video content - those are at Facebook? Or there is some sort of Dribbble for video content makers?

    1. Work on organic growth through SEO optimization and link building.

    2. Target intrested customer through Facebook and Google Ads.

    3. Post on multiple SaaS groups on Facebook.

All these method will help to gain customer who interested and willing to pay.

      Thanks for the advice!
FB and Google sound promising, never ran ad campaigns there.

As for SEO - I talked to some SEO specialists and found out that I need to spend around $2k per month (at least) and MAYBE will get the first results in 6-8 months. That is what SEO will bring to me, as I heard from the SEO guys. This looks not too good for me at this point.

You have heard about SEO from someone who was most likely trying to sell some SEO services.

I can guarantee it doesn't take anywhere near $2K/month to rank on Google. In fact, you can rank on Google for free. SEO is nothing but a content game — just words. Pretty much anybody can write words. I assume you developed this app, so being a developer you can take care of technical SEO and most of the on-page SEO.

You'll need to put in the time that's the main investment if you ask me. So maybe if you value your time at $120/hr it might be somewhere near the $2K they suggested.

Apart from time, there's an investment in content research tools but that can be done for free since you only need the basics when getting started. Google Keyword Planner, Search Console and Trends are there. Ubersuggest is generously free, SEMrush has a free plan with the essential tools.

          That's a great explanation, thanks!
Make sense, I assume that this is not easy, but not that hard as well.

Yes, it takes time in starting. But it will work for long term and keep bringing customer.
Also SEO is not so hard neither link building. You can give some time and start doing outreach yourself.
