Anyway, I started with Children of Men—I loved everything about it – it's just so well done!

let me tell you something - that movie was a blast! The style was on point, and the acting was so good, it felt like the actors were performing right in front of me.

But let's talk about the unsung heroes of this movie - the background camera workers.

These guys delivered some of the most incredible long shots I've ever seen, especially during the car scene. And don't get me started on the last 15 minutes! It was insane and made me want to watch the movie again right away. I mean, who wouldn't want to experience that level of awesomeness one more time?

So I highly recommend you start with Children of Men and if you already watched that, don’t worry dude!

This list of movies I collected so far is not just any movies, they are the must-watch movies.

Horror Picks

But before I begin let me give you a piece of advice.

Bear in mind you need to have the right atmosphere and mood to get the absolute best from a horror movie (or any movie) and to be immersed.

Here are the movies;

• Werewolves Within

Oh boy, this movie is a hoot! Not only is the cast totally fabulous, but the snappy dialogue and the campy vibe of the town and its inhabitants make for an absolute delight of a watch. Hats off to the group of writers who cooked up this gem (and a big shout out to the video game that inspired it). This movie is hands down one of my faves of the year!

• Malignant

A movie that's campy, hilarious, creepy, and just straight-up badass. It's not what you expect from the trailer or the director, but it delivers in all the right ways. I mean, who knew you could enjoy a fight scene this much? And the sassy shade thrown at amnesia tropes in the genre? Iconic. This movie is a must-see for anyone who wants to have a good time and be thoroughly entertained.

• False Positive

A24 film written by and starring Ilana Glazer, need I say more? While the twist isn’t difficult to predict, it’s still wholly disturbing once revealed. The movie breaks your heart time and time again while keeping you entirely on edge.

• The Night House

Phenomenal acting from Rebecca Hall with a plot that doesn’t assume the audience is an idiot with hand-holding but instead lends a hand to subtle plot devices and indications. Wonderfully filmed and written, it carried itself beautifully and was incredibly haunting. I’m still staring at the furniture in my house hoping I don’t see humanoid shapes.

• Censor

I know most of you agree (I’ve seen it mentioned here a lot) but it’s too good not to put it on my list. Holy shit that movie is so good and could easily fly under a horror fan’s radar simply by hiding on Hulu. I can’t even begin to pick apart anything about it, and it and The Night House easily jumped to being two of my favorite horror films of all time.
