πŸ’© Take a Dump on My Landing Page πŸ’©

What's going on everyone?!

I'd love some feedback on my landing page for SimpleTour.

Haven't had much luck landing users. So I'm wondering if there's anything that'd sweeten the offering. The only marketing I've done is cold email outreach (if I annoyingly contacted you, I'm sorry).

Check out SimpleTour in action here.

Thanks in advance and I hope you all have a great weekend! 🍻

I think you're landing page looks great, and I immediately understood the problem you're solving.

    No code required.
Can you really create a tour of my SaaS application without me writing any code?

      Thanks for the feedback :)

You got it! Copy a single install line into the closing body tag on any page you'd like the tour to run, and voila, you're ready to start building your tour using the Chrome plugin!

      Check out the steps here.

    Good job @gleblanc πŸ‘
It's super clear for me. But maybe because Im used to this kind of products like Pendo etc.

The JPG switch are jaggy for the graphics but I'm sure in the future you'll have something more animated in form of gif or video.

      Much appreciated @OStirbu πŸ™πŸΌ

Pendo and other companies alike were the inspiration for SimpleTour, so you'll see some similarities. The goal is to focus more on supporting the Indie Hacker style projects out there.

Yes, we'll get some real graphics up on the site soon. Might help with conversion 🀞🏼

    Interesting idea @gleblanc, Congratulations!
    Some WoW factors:

    • I think the landing page conveys the problem statement and the solution very clearly.
    • Simple demo page to illustrate how it would work
    • Clear pricing and the information about the items included

    Some observations:

    • Under the CTA on the hero section, message about free trial and the no credit card required note is very small to the extent that I missed it :D(Probably it is only me but you still lost a customer if I were looking into this for a free trial). I would increase the size of it or giving it a darker shade for the font color
    • Hero section says "No code required" - I am sure this would at least require people to copy some embed script at least to integrate. So I think it would be better if you remove that or just say minimal code / single line of code to turn on the product tour?
    • In the pricing section, there is no information for a plan which supports unlimited active users. I am not really sure if that is not supported but what if I am interested to buy a plan which supports unlimited active users?

    Hope it helps!

Please feel free to DM me on Twitter (notifykamalraj) if you need any clarification. I can take a look at your app and future versions of the website and give you feedback as well. Hope we can add value to each other as makers!

      Hey @kamal_raj_sekar!

Thanks for the response; this is very helpful :)

      Regarding your observations:

      • This is a valid point and funny enough, was recently discussed among the SimpleTour team. We'll be making it more obvious that there's a free trial available.

      • The initial setup requires a quick copy and paste, so I agree, we're not fully "no-code." We will try and make this a little clearer in our copy.

      • Unlimited active users would likely be one of those "Contact Us" types of requests. As we grow, we'll be implementing a tier to facilitate organizations that require 10K+ monthly users.

Sending you a DM on Twitter as we speak. Talk soon!

Hi Griffin. I make KanoSurveys.com, you sent me an invite email this evening and it caught my attention because I've recently been thinking about exactly this kind of feature for new users, and if I can save myself some dev effort then great. So here's my feedback as a genuine potential user:

Really nice landing page overall, super clear, great copy, nice design etc. The gif at the top conveys the value proposition almost immediately. Two suggestions:

    1. Beef up the demo: add the analytics panel so I can get a feel for what data is available, and show off the branding capabilities (the demo site looks too similar to your landing page).

    2. My product's dashboard is pretty empty for new users so I was kind of hesitant at first (what would my tour even have in it?), and it didn't immediately occur to me that I could have several tours to introduce new parts of the product as the user progresses through setting up their first few things. Perhaps this is a good point to convey on the landing page - you do say "unlimited", but it might be helpful to be more explicit about use cases for multiple tours.

In terms of how I think about actually signing up for the product:

My first consideration is "can I build this myself?". It would take me a while to do all the user management stuff and storage of content etc, and your integration looks super simple and the demo is smooth. So ticks that box.

My next thought is: "how much?". I notice you have no free tier and as someone who's early revenue it feels like an overspend right now when I could build something myself for zero.

In order to pay I need to know if tours are going to be successful in leading my users to higher engagement. I reckon you need some sort of 'conversion' API that I can call back when the user takes some action, and I can see that over time in the analytics with different versions of the tour (or even with no tour showing as a control group). This would let you concretely demonstrate the value and justify the cost.

A free tier would let me try it out (and I would!), see the value and then upgrade for more features. A free tier is also (in my opinion) a great way for acquiring more users early on to get feedback from.

Anyway, long story short - it's a great landing page and a neat product. Best of luck with it!

      Hey Will πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

Wow, thank you so much for this! This feedback is extremely helpful :)

A free tier is in the works, but for now, we offer a 14 day trial for free with no credit card required. So, anyone who's interested in testing the tool out can do so free of charge.

A callback API is in our roadmap as we've had a couple of requests so far. And I agree, it will help convey the value by showing our customers that the tool is helping users out, ultimately justifying the cost.

Your analysis and suggestions are money, so I'm curious to hear your thoughts once you've built a tour. I think you should give it a try!
