Take look AI-powered Gmail to Google Tasks assistant :)

Hey Indie Hackers,

I’m building MailToDock, an AI-powered Gmail to Google Tasks assistant.

The idea came from a simple problem: a lot of work starts in Gmail, but important follow-ups often get buried in the inbox. I wanted a faster way to turn emails into tasks without losing the original context behind them.

MailToDock analyzes Gmail emails and automatically suggests actionable Google Tasks — including task titles, notes, due dates, and task lists. You can review the suggestions and add them to Google Tasks in one click.

The part I’m most focused on is context.

Each task stays linked to the original email, so you can always trace where the work came from. Inside Gmail, MailToDock also shows connected tasks in the email detail panel, and displays Todo, Doing, or Candidate badges next to email subjects in the message list.

Completed tasks stay out of the way, so the inbox only highlights emails that still need action.

Key features so far:

  • AI task suggestions from Gmail emails

  • One-click Google Tasks creation

  • Email-to-task context linking

  • Gmail message list status badges

  • Related unfinished tasks shown across emails

  • Two-way Google Tasks sync

  • Suggested subtasks

  • No permanent email storage on our servers

I’m building this for people who already use Gmail as their work inbox and Google Tasks as their task system, but want a faster and more contextual workflow.

Would love feedback from anyone who manages tasks from email.
