I've been on both sides and taken 100+ technical interviews.
Companies don't invest in good interview tools which hurt candidates' chances.
There are a few free tools, but they either lack core features or stop working in the middle of the interview.
Such issues create bias in the interviewer's mind and the candidates' have to suffer.
I'm building HireByCode out of my own frustration.
The rest of the flow is also live along with the landing page so give it a shot.
Will love to hear your feedback. Thanks!
Curious - how is it different from, e.g. coderpad?
I see that you have also working on something similar. How it is going? Facing any major challenges?
I would say it will be different in terms of pricing - I'm making it more affordable (still need to work out details).
Plus, lots of companies still use a combination of google docs + meet/zoom/skype which isn't the best experience for the candidates.
I think the market is underserved and I can provide a better solution.
Personally, I’d really like an example or video to demonstrate your web app
Thanks for the suggestion.
Actually, the flow is very simple so I thought people could sign up and try it right away.
I could do the video but not sure if that adds any value.
Simply put, I don’t know enough about it to be motivated to jump through all the account setup steps and setup a session. Is there a way to demo by just clicking on a link instead?
I don’t know what types of questions you provide (if any), what the editor looks like, what languages are supported, what the notes look like. A video or more descriptive landing page will help convince me that your tool is relevant and fits my needs.
Right. The page is not descriptive enough for users to understand if the product is relevant to them or not.
Thanks for the great feedback. I'll work on it. It will also help me to get right set of customers :D
Total agree with fromtheexchange here. I'm curious about what your app is offering, i.e a better technical interviewing experience, but I don't want to sign up initially because I'm not really sure what the app will do. Does it give me questions and allows me to test my code to see how many test I'm passing? I don't see a list of features anywhere. Anyways, cool product it seems, but we need to know more about how its differentiated.
Hey @shivtej - congrats on building this. I know the situation pretty well and have used spreadsheets in the past to overcome biases. Fingers crossed for the product.
Regarding the LP - if you want this to convert into signups I think it will benefit from looking a lot more like a landing pages people are used to.
