Over the past 2 years, I've been working on my app Finta which syncs your account balances, transactions, and investments to Notion, Coda, Google Sheets, and Airtable for easy budgeting. During the first year, I was still in grad school, so I didn't have much time to work on the project (initially it only worked for Airtable). This past year, I focused more on building out the remaining integrations and other medium-sized features. Now I think I'm at a point where I can close VS code, exit out of Linear, and starting spending more energy on marketing (although I definitely should have focused on this sooner).
My initial thought is to focus on content marketing since people search for budgeting articles pretty frequently. Another route would be to approach influencers in the no-code space or the personal finance space to see if they would want to partner. Lastly, I've thought about launching on platforms like AppSumo, ProductHunt, and BetaList.
There's so many options out there, and I definitely don't want to spread myself too thin. Anyone have any tips to coming up with a bare-bones marketing strategy specifically for a B2C SaaS product?
We did gain quite a lot of customers and good revenue by launching our product on SaasMantra. It isn't about the money actually; it's more about getting a lot of feedback and experience.
However, I felt that these "early adopters" are kind of special (in the sense of not reflecting your average, later customer), and that they are registered on many LTD platforms, so you possibly won't be able to repeat such a launch on multiple LTD platforms.
You can market with code. Side project marketing works well.
For you that could be making finance calculators or finance games etc.
Good luck!
