Taking notes from podcasts is time ineffective and remains an unsolved problem.
My current flow involves taking a screenshot, them remembering to revisit it, listen again, or browsing a transcript if available.
I'm already thinking for three weeks how to make this process seamless during listening, and it's tough from a technical standpoint.
My best guess is that from the UX perspective, taking a note that contains the last 10-20 seconds of the audio playback, would make the most sense.
To trigger that action, the user should be able to either (Sorted descending from best possible scenario)
a) Double-tap on AirPods
b) Take a screenshot
c) Tap an in-app button
All of them are either currently impossible or require a custom podcast app with transcripts in place, speech to text recognition, etc.
Anyone working on this problem?
I love this idea! I've had the exact same problem... I would love to implement this in my project (Clipps).
Still working on developing a mobile app though, so unfortunately that won't be available for a couple months still (unless this quarantine continues and my free time continues to trend the way it's been recently).
Any other features you'd like to see in your podcast player? I'm all ears!
Been tossing around a similar idea in my head for a while. In terms of an MVP I would want a button on screen (similar to the Cortana button that is translucent) that can be easily tapped that will essentially add a "bookmark" at the exact time-stamp in the playback of the podcast. I'd like to have the ability to later go back and access all my bookmarked podcasts and play them back starting just a couple seconds prior to the time-stamp where the bookmark was added. Later features like speech-to-text transcription would be really slick and valuable but obviously technically more challenging. Are you thinking of throwing together an MVP?
