Taming the Wasteland: Your Guide to the "Hunter's Path" Quest
So, you’ve picked up the "Hunter's Path" quest and now you're tasked with taking down some of the meanest ducks in the wasteland: the Rampaging Scavengers. Don't sweat it. These guys might be fast, but with the right plan, they're just more feathers for your cap. Let's get you through this.
Step 1: Finding Their Hideout
First things first, you won't just stumble upon these psychos while taking a stroll. They have their own little slice of hell, and you’ve got to march right into it.
Where They're Hiding:
The Scavenger camp is tucked away in a clearing in the southwest corner of the map, just south of the main Forest Path.
How to Get There:
Head out from the main bunker entrance and start walking west down the dirt path.
Hug the left side. Before long, you'll see a gap in the wire fence leading south into the woods. That's your turn.
Duck through that gap and follow the little trail. It'll open up right into their camp. You can't miss it.
You'll know 'em when you see 'em. They're the ones decked out in bright red gear, waving around those nasty butcher knives. There are usually two or three of them hanging around, just waiting for a fight.
Heads Up! And I mean this: once they see you, they are fast. They will sprint straight for you and won't stop chasing until you're dead or back at the bunker. Do not underestimate their speed.
Step 2: How to Drop 'Em Quick
Alright, you've found them. Now, how do you not die? The trick is to never let them get close. Their whole game plan is to rush you and start slashing, which causes a nasty bleeding effect. We're not going to let that happen.
The Golden Rule: Aim for the Head.
A clean headshot is a one-shot-kill. It drops them on the spot before they can even think about closing the distance.
Your Best Tools: Bring a pistol or a rifle—anything you can be precise with. Forget shotguns, and don't even think about trying to fight them with a melee weapon. That's a recipe for disaster.
Keep Your Distance: This is a fight you want to take from afar. Spot them, line up your shot, and take them down before they know what hit them.
A Word on the Red Barrels: You’ll see some explosive red barrels scattered around their camp. It’s tempting, I know, but trust me, it’s usually a trap. By the time you line up a shot on a barrel, they'll be on top of you and out of the blast radius. Stick to direct hits.
Patch Yourself Up: Even the best of us can take a hit. Make sure you've got bandages on you. Bleeding out after the fight is a terrible way to go.
Step 3: The Hard Part's Over, Let's Get Paid
Once the Scavengers are down, you're on the home stretch. Just need to tie up some loose ends.
Here's your final checklist:
Confirm Two Kills: Make sure at least two Scavengers are down for the count.
Loot the Knives: Walk up to the bodies and grab the "Butcher Knife" from each. You need two of them.
Hike Back to the Bunker: With the proof in your pack, make your way back to safety and turn in the quest.
