"Software is presented as a concierge experience. It’s there when needed and out of the way when not." - as it should be. But how do you marry this idea with consumerism? I agree, I prefer a more minimalistic lifestyle in general. But as long as people and businesses keep coming up with apps and online products (all of which must be valuable if they're making a profit, of course, I'm not arguing they're pointless), the option to keep using tech that doesn't fulfill a human "need" will always exist.
