Tech Co-Founder for Sex Education Mobile Game

What’s Curios?
Curios is changing the way we teach teenagers. By harnessing mobile gaming's educational power, we want to disrupt relationship and sex education (RSE) through gamification. Think Duo-lingo for sex ed.

I’m Max, my background is as a project manager delivering events for the likes of Google and Facebook. I decided I wanted to move away from the corporate world and start a project that would have a positive social impact. I identified that RSE in its current format is failing and something has to be done about it.

Everyone should have access to good and free RSE. So even though our target audience is 13 to 16 year olds, the app will be designed to appeal to adults, too. Initially, Curios will launch in the UK before expanding internationally and translating into multiple different languages.

Curios is a small startup with big plans. As solo founder, I’m looking for a purpose-driven, tech-savvy and entrepreneurial-minded individual to join me in revolutionising RSE.

Current Business Stage

• Pre-MVP and seeking technical co-founder to establish the business, raise capital and grow quickly.
• Spent the last year validating and refining the idea.
• I have a basic prototype that has been tested by the target market and will be used for securing investment

Who am I looking for?
A Co-Founder who is (or has the potential to become) either a lead developer or CTO, who can code and has prior experience working in an early-stage startup. Someone who shares my dream and has the ability to create it.

You’re an architect, thinker, researcher, tester and tinkerer. You are motivated by complex challenges and understand how to gather people to solve problems. UX/UI experience is nice but not essential. Open-mindedness helps.

From strategic thinking to product design, hiring teams to pitch ideas, getting it wrong to getting it right – this role is about building something that can provide essential sex education in a fun and engaging way. So if you’re passionate about making a difference, have coding abilities and can oversee our app’s development, I’d love to hear from you.

Essential Experience & Skills:

• Back-end development experience, ability and willingness to develop initial MVP - Preferred programming Swift/React Native/Node.js/Python/Django
• Experience building mobile applications in iOS
• Strong desire to work within an early-stage start-up
• Experience managing tech teams

• Full-stack developer

Working Conditions:
Location: Flexible. I’m based in Bristol and looking to set up an office here post COVID-19.

Hours: Part-time initially and becoming full-time once we’ve raised the initial investment.

Salary: Salary will be dependent on experience and time you can commit to the project. The role will offer an equity stake to start, with the option of having priority access to a salary once the company receives funding. Fundraising will begin as soon as you have joined the company. You will be required to do a minimal amount of work until investment is secured and I can pay you properly for your time.
