Tell IH: I got my first subscriber about six months post launch

Hey IH,

I'm just so excited. I got my first subscriber about six months after launching https://zeer0.com.

This is a very niche service - we provide a friendlier interface for SES - and the UI is exceptionally crappy since I'm nowhere close to being a designer but someone still found value in the product and was willing to subscribe to it.

Thank you, world!

    Congrats!
I'm really impressed with your consistence and stubbornness, this is really cool.

But I wouldn't consider a wrapper over SES as a niche product. Many companies use it so I would rather be surprised why it took so long for you the land the first customer. Can you share more about your journey? Thanks!

I currently work for an eCom startup which uses SES for transactional stuff while using Sendgrid for marketing stuff. I noticed that we kept having to download SES templates locally to view them in the browser. Zeer0 tried to make that process a little easier.

Zeer0's offering focused on SES was launched around September. I worked on it in my spare time and also had a team available to test it - i.e. my work colleagues - and give me ideas for improvement.

I haven't actually done a lot of marketing for it so that could be one reason why the uptake has been low and why I feel SES is niche. Any ideas for growing the subscriber base?

I'm probably not a right person to ask such questions but I would highly recommend to get familiar with the awareness pyramid (for example, read it here, not mine https://doneandtested.com/strategy/the-prospect-awareness-pyramid/)

The idea is you need to expose some reasons why your product solves which problem for which TA and why it's better than existing solutions. Hope it helps.
