I've been moonshining for a while now.
I'm planning to quit my job and start freelancing full-time.
I'm curious about your experience if you've found yourself in a familiar situation?
Hey Adam! For context, I bounce between freelancing and full time within product management. Echoing the below comment, existing relationships have worked better than cold outreach or freelance platforms. With that said, the core elements of going from conversations to consistent freelance projects have been a clear offering (cost, time, comparables) and a cheap & easy way to show value up front.
Happy to get into more depth!
I quit my full time job last July in order to work on Update-Whisperer and potentially on freelancing gigs. I got kinda stuck on Update-Whisperer (but coming slowly back) but I have a few freelancing clients now :)
So it wasn't really planned to get into freelancing, but I am happy about that. I got the clients through my personal network and friends. My advice: Try to have potential clients in your reach when you quit so you can keep on working (and getting money).
