Testing an idea: “overwhelm = cognitive overload”

I’m building a content brand around cognitive performance (CORTEX LAB), and I’ve been testing different angles.

One idea that seems to resonate early:

“Overwhelm isn’t a time problem. It’s a cognitive overload problem.”

The more I look at it, the more it makes sense:

People aren’t stuck because they have too much work.

They’re stuck because their brains are trying to hold too many things at once:

  • tasks
  • decisions
  • open loops

Add constant interruptions (notifications, messages), and it resets their mental state repeatedly.

Result:
They feel busy, but make no progress.

Still very early (low reach, small audience), but posts framed this way get noticeably better engagement than generic productivity advice.

I’m starting to think the real leverage isn’t “time management”…

…it’s reducing cognitive load.

Curious if anyone else building in productivity / mental performance has seen similar patterns?
