Adam McClarin, a CISSP-certified security professional based in Friendswood, Texas, is the solo full-stack engineer behind CanopyGuard. Driven by a desire to reveal hidden website issues, McClarin developed the free audit tool to expose security gaps, missing headers, and optimization blind spots that standard scans completely miss.

Launched in May 2026, CanopyGuard evaluates 47 signals across SEO, AEO, GEO, and security in just 15 seconds without requiring an account. Early critical feedback prompted McClarin to deepen the product, rebuilding its scoring mechanism entirely around his CISSP expertise. This intentional shift made rigorous security the tool's core differentiator. By July 2026, CanopyGuard reached its first 100 users, a milestone McClarin measured specifically by report downloads.

To market the platform, McClarin engaged organically on Reddit, LinkedIn, and Facebook, and optimized a PeerPush listing by routing traffic to a targeted blog post. Ultimately, CanopyGuard serves as a powerful lead generator and the "front door" to his managed AI lead generation platform, Meraki BIP. Built on React, Vite, and Vercel, the scan engine automates McClarin's manual audit routines and maps security flaws directly to the MITRE ATT&CK framework.

McClarin advises new founders to automate their professional expertise, offering it quickly and for free to build immediate trust. Today, CanopyGuard remains a free, fast diagnostic tool that initiates deeper client conversations.
