So a year ago, I was an executive at a publicly listed software company, and an executive coach got me onto this book called The 5 Dysfunctions of a team, which is often prescribed to leadership teams to get them to work well together. When I read this book, so much of the nonsense I saw in executive meetings and board meetings was described so beautifully in this book.
The reason I bring it up, is with small startup teams, I do reflect on a lot of the lessons, and they are incredibly valuable in getting teams to speed up. I think to all the scrappy folks out there, trying to make it work with a rag-tag bunch of people - this book might help get the gel of the team humming.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this, and yes I did write it, and that might seem like self promotion, but the truth is the book made me look at how teams work very differently, and I think that lesson is worth passing on.
So if you don't have time to read the book, I've written a 3 minute guide to how it works, and uploaded a video, which was made by the author.
I'd be keen to know if this resonates with anyone.
Also sorry if the website is a bit slow for some users - fixing it this week :)
