The audience, can you switch it?

Recently I've had this question on my mind.
Can I switch my audience?
Let's suppose I run a Twitter account where I share programming tips, but later on, I realize that cooking is my real passion.
Can I just start posting stuff not-related to my previous tweets, or should I create a separate account for it?
What are your thoughts on this? How do you deal with a similar situation?
I agree with @kevon, if your audience doesn't want to see your content anymore they will unfollow you and new followers will come that do appreciate your new content!
Yes, and find a way to make those cooking tweets interesting because people will follow interesting people even though they don't share the same passion
Yes of course. If it is your personal Twitter, it should follow YOU - your values & passion. Anyone who doesn't want to see you anymore will unfollow. So not a problem.
