We recently launched IPWho, a developer-first IP geolocation API built for teams that need fast, affordable, and reliable location data without paying inflated cloud-based pricing.
The idea came from seeing how expensive location intelligence APIs can become once usage starts scaling. Many products only need practical IP-based data such as country, city, ASN/ISP, timezone, currency, and basic security signals, but pricing often becomes painful very quickly.
So we built IPWho on our own bare-metal infrastructure across 16+ global locations to keep latency low and pricing more predictable.
Current features include:
Country and city-level IP geolocation
ASN and ISP data
Timezone and currency data
VPN, proxy, and Tor detection
Free tier with 2,000 requests/day
Paid plans starting at $10/month for 250,000 requests/day
It is mainly useful for developers building localization, analytics, fraud checks, regional content, onboarding personalization, or security workflows.

Would you consider switching IP geolocation providers mainly because of pricing and latency, or are accuracy and data coverage the bigger deciding factors for you?

I'd be careful with one assumption.
The interesting decision may not be whether pricing, latency, or accuracy matters most.
It's whether the same answer is true for the customer you actually want first.
That sounds obvious, but getting it wrong can make a product look interchangeable when it isn't.
I wouldn't make that call casually in a thread.
