The Best Browser Extension UI/UX ✨

Hi folks,

We're building a Chrome/Firefox extension and I wondered what you all consider to be well-designed references?

Of course, there is Indiehacker extraordinaire Closet Tools, but what other extensions are out there that deliver a great user experience on a tiny slice of pixels?

Thank you for dropping amazingly well-designed extensions in the comments ✨

1Password is pretty good. It has a complicated CRUD to deal with and it needs to be context aware so that the UI refines itself to do exactly what the user needs when the user needs it.

So, Design your UI like you're working on a small screen mobile phone. All the same responsive UI patterns apply. I'm using antd CSS and React in https://SignalFlare.app and it's working out okay for me.

My next trick is break out of the 400x600 pixel box and inject an overlay of my UI into the page as a side tray: https://twitter.com/signalflare_app/status/1457697846853992457?s=20

This gives me more real estate and I don't need the user to pin my extension to their toolbar to stay actively engaged.
