The best personal website ever?

Hey all, a question about personal websites...

Am refreshing mine today/tomorrow, and making some big(-ish) changes.

So I thought I'd see what the IH community thinks...

  1. What's the best personal site you've seen?

  2. Would anyone want to get a run through/teardown of my thought process? Probably as a video recap...

Thanks!

mprogano.com - I think the bold message upfront, as well as the case studies this person has posted on the website.

stuffandnonsense.co.uk - Great case studies, and quirky homepage.

chrissteib.com - Clean presentation of his skills above the fold. His personality is presented in the website.

karanmhatre.com - Shameless plug. This is me. I've kept it simple, with three achievements, a few blogs articles, and one open source project. The website has a single level navigation. The intent for me was to showcase an array of skills.

Does anyone have any idea how to achieve graphics and effects like this? And also making it like a game? Truly impressive!

If you Google "webGL game engine" there's a whole bunch.

Inspecting the source code of Bruno's website it looks like he's using GreenStock which I've never heard of before.

Digging a little deeper it looks like it uses Three.js under the hood which is a pretty popular low level framework. If you want to just have a play I would follow the Three tutorials, it's not very difficult to get something basic working.

How have I not seen this before.

I know this gets posted often as the epitome of a personal site, but depending on the audience for your personal site this might not be the best idea.

"I just want to find out if this guy knows machine learning, and now I have to drive a f**king truck!"

That is so cool and freaking fun
