The best product ideas are hiding in someone else’s weekend project

Most indie ideas don’t need more applause at launch.

They need a few curious people who will say:
“I’d use this if…”

That’s why I like browsing projects while they’re still rough.

A half-finished side project reveals the decisions behind it:
what someone chose not to build,
the workaround they accepted,
the tiny audience they care about.

Those details are often more useful than a polished launch page.

I’ve been building IndieNeed around that kind of discovery — a place to find indie-made SaaS, AI tools, and side projects without needing to already know their names.

If you could ask another maker one question before they launch, what would it be?

I’ll start: “What did you learn from the first person who tried it?”

If this resonates, an upvote helps more makers join the conversation.

And if you have a project worth putting in front of curious makers, you can submit it here: https://www.indieneed.com/submit

This is useful. How are you finding your first users so far?

Makes sense. Are you planning to charge for it, or keep it free for now?
