Hey indiehackers! How's it going? :)
I'm Vic and I'm a 17 y/o bootstrapper and I created the biggest database of online communities and groups on the internet!
it's called Group Hunt, and here's some context on why i decided to start this to help SaaS founders
i used communities to grow my first SaaS to $10k+ at 17
you heard it right...communities :)
subreddits, fb groups, IH, telegram groups and so on - i know i'm not the only one
so today I am launching the biggest database of online communities in the WORLD🚀
to make it easier for everyone to validate their ideas, get customers and reach their target audience with community marketing👇

40,000 active online communities for $40 - special offer for my twitter community until the 7th of feb ;)
Hope this helped, and i wish everyone good luck with their projects
cheers ✌️
it's good but why would anyone buy all the info in bulk? If I am building a tool for a specific niche, I would want to buy the groups' data of that particular niche only not everything !!
you can actually filter based on topics and keywords and we have 100+ topics and hundreds of groups on each topic
check out the sample version for some context
Your dedication and professionalism for 17 years is truly inspiring
Your offer makes no sense simply because:
For me, it makes 0 sense to sell access to free public information. I know you're just 17 and probably did not think this through thoroughly.
hey Traian, firstly, glad to see a fellow Romanian on IH ;) 🇷🇴
Now regarding your doubts about the product, I definitely see what you're saying, but that's kinda the idea of the DaaS(DB as a service) business model.
Gathering huge data from the internet and other sources and getting it in a compact, filterable and interactive dashboard, updating the data on a monthly basis. There are plenty of companies leveraging this model that are basing on the quantity over quality aspect that do 6-7 figures per year. Some good examples are Tiktokarmy.com, RemoteRocketship.com, Angelmatch.io, Investorhunt.co or Cyberleads, just to name a few. They have a huge chunk of data where you can filter by your preferred topics and keywords and they update it monthly and get it to your inbox. In Grouphunt you can also filter by topic, keywords, subscribers, and so on. Not to mention that most whastapp groups, slack communities, and discord servers are not available to the public, we had to do our own magic to
Now secondly, I definitely don't want to turn this into my main business, it's just a side project, if it works, it works, if not, it was fun to build :) I already have my main SaaS that i'm working on most of my time for the past 1 year, where I have a co-founder in California, recurring customers, agency customers and so on.
again, i definitely see where you're coming from, just wanted to give some clarification
lastly, sorry for the wall of text lol
Great post vic!
