The boring way we reached $1k MRR in less than 60 days

When I started HandyPay, I did what most founders usually do first:
SEO, content, landing page tweaks, waiting for traffic.

It didn’t move the needle.

So I switched to something much more boring, and much more effective.

I went directly to businesses.

Spas, salons, and service businesses.
I asked simple questions:

  • How do you handle deposits?
  • What happens when customers don’t show up?
  • How do people usually pay?

Then I set them up on the spot with a simple way to get paid.

No ads
No funnels
No growth hacks

That approach got us to $1k MRR in under 60 days.

What actually worked:

  • One clear use case: get paid fast and reduce no-shows
  • Direct conversations: in person, WhatsApp, referrals
  • Solving problems they already felt that day

What surprised me:

  • Features mattered less than trust
  • Clarity beat complexity
  • Being close to customers beat optimization

Organic growth didn’t come from content or virality.
It came from proximity to the customer.

Manual first → understand patterns → scale what works.
