I agree with Kyle on this one, if you haven't validated it with real people yet, don't worry about Ad spend just now. Detailed and focused user testing is much more valuable in these early stages. Best of luck!

Thank s @Meri_Earthfound for your time, don't you think that in order to get the feedback of a decent number of people, you have to spend some bucks in ads ?

Hi! It all really depends on where you are in your product journey. If you've validated it in another market and have a solid user base already then by all means start looking at expanding out by using methods targeting a bigger number but with a very specific audience in mind.
If however you don't have that specific audience, I'd suggest using techniques from great books like the Mom Test and Rocket Surgery Made Easy to find smaller numbers that you can personally interact with and gain valuable insights from.
Hopefully that makes sense, if you'd like to chat it through further feel free to pop me an email (address on my profile) and we can have a quick call some time :)

IMO you don't need to spend any money on ads to test a SaaS idea. For instance, we've spent $0 for Removaly and were able to prove the concept very quickly. Most likely you can post here on IndieHackers, ProductHunt, Twitter, etc. to gauge interest and if the idea is actually feasible.

Sure throwing some money at ads isn't a terrible idea, but there are plenty of free ways to get an idea if your SaaS is worth working on 👍

I agree that you can validate an idea for free but using paid ads is a tool to keep in mind. You could put some money towards a smokescreen test where you try to get people to convert.

Another option is to put up an ad for a survey (optionally offer a prize like a gift card for completing the survey). Neither option is foolproof, but something you could reach for.

If I was using paid advertising for validation, I probably wouldn't put more than $100-200.
