This is probably such good timing that I came across this article. I have been feeling stuck with my new job (already) and can't seem to be able to give time to personal projects.

    Thank you for sharing this.

I agree, the major setback I had working on my side project is moving between jobs and having to spend a good 3 to 4 months to get my head around the new business and tools. And when the load is finally off, you have no idea where to start and it feels blurry thinking about it.

The 'start your day working on your project' is so key. Your job will eventually get on the way, so nothing like starting the day with the focus on the most important things.

    Great reading.

Exactly, if you are bound to have a fulltime job, at least give your golden hour or two for your side project.

Thank you for putting the time to comment and I'm glad you like it :)

It would be interesting to hear more about your side hustle. I couldn't find any products on your profile :)

Actually I just added my product to IH its called (Qesheq)[https://www.indiehackers.com/product/qesheq], its still incomplete though.

In summary, its a platform for Arabs to create quality content. Anything that relates to their experiences, things they learned, reflections, really anything that isn't Kardashian news.

I started working on this project a few years back and kept maintaining it and adding more articles, and then I got a new job and couldn't work on it much until recently.

V2 is on its way now, and now anyone can create their own account and start sharing and posting. Something like how medium does it, on a much smaller scale.

Amazing product. I recently started to write my newsletter in Substack and have nothing but great things to say about it. If you build a niche platform for Arabs I'm sure there will be space for a successful journey (if I'm understanding correct, your product is to become the platform for content creation right?).

Suggest you add the feature of a newsletter too, in order to facilitate the research and discovery of your platform.

You got a new follower to incentivize you to keep on going ;)

I also have a job so I can relate with the challenge to keep side projects going..

You got yourself a new subscriber on OpenBooks :)

You got it right, its a content creation platform (articles for now).
The newsletter is definitely in my roadmap, just waiting to have enough content generated every week so I can start doing customized newsletters per interest.

Thank you I really appreciate your support 🙌

Really nice products you got as well. I like that you are focused on a financial niche. It brings lots of value in the right place.

I would suggest you give your landing page a bit more visuals or illustrations.
What are your marketing channels on both products?

Yey! This community is awesome, thanks for the support.

I’m still trying to figure out if the newsletter will be a product alone or if I should focus on using it as a channel to acquire traffic to the websites (liquidCFO).

thanks for the tip on the website. I have to confess that over the last 3/4 weeks I have been 200% focused on the newsletter and haven’t even touched the website. Once the newsletter is at least streamlined I’ll start to dedicate more time to the website.

So ideally the traffic would come from SEO, I haven’t really built any clear strategy yet… maybe from LinkedIn, Quora, Twitter, where I’m trying to get a better footprint. Would be more than happy to get your thoughts on your experience!
