Decided to share a quick update on my real-time translation chat project.
I’ve spent about 3-4 hours on it so far, and honestly, right now it’s just a clunky, opaque custom keyboard where only the word "Hi" is hardcoded to translate. 😂
The tool I’m using to build this is OpenCode. Since I’m a complete beginner when it comes to coding, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I have to say, it feels like it generates pretty solid results. Are there many folks here using OpenCode for their projects?
Directing an AI to build a project (what some call 'vibe coding') has this fresh, unpredictable charm to it. It’s incredibly fun to act as the PM and see the ideas come to life.
Recently, I pushed an app to a cross-platform test server. I even got my first app store rejection, fixed the issues, and resubmitted! Every single step of this process is so much fun and gives me a massive dopamine rush.
I actually have a day job and need to wake up at 5 AM tomorrow. It’s almost midnight right now, but I just can't take my hands off the build process.
I have a strong feeling it’s only going to get more exciting from here, and I can't wait to see where this goes. Would love to connect with other beginners or PM-minded folks building with AI!
