The easiest way to monetize your API 💪

Just launched a new marketing site & landing page and would love any feedback 🙏

Also, try clicking on the blobs.. it's a cute lil effect that I had a lot of fun making hah.

Thanks!

I like this service! As someone who is more on the developer side of the spectrum I find it really frustrating to have to deal with all the minutia around the core of whatever service I am building.

What I am missing from your landing page is some idea of what this service is going to cost. I would never want to use or rely on some service where I cannot anticipate or calculate what the overhead is going to be.

    Best of luck!

      Awesome, great feedback @spe 🙏

Right now, the service is free to use with a variable % cut of the revenue, but this is open to change in the future.

Cool, Travis. I think it would be valuable to have something like that visible and easy to find on the website. Maybe also something that puts it into context, like if you did this yourself you would have X% fee to the card processor, Y% that you would need to collect for VAT or sales taxes, Z fixed costs for running frontend. Although maybe that isn't such good advice come to think of it as it puts you squarely into cost based pricing territory rather than value based pricing...

Great thoughts -- definitely need to add a pricing page to discuss some of these things.

    The blobs are really fun!

But the style of the website could be more integral. Now you are using three different types of fonts from totally different areas:

    • serif for the logo
    • sans serif for the navigation
    • comic something for the copy text

The screenshots look professional, but the website itself seems playful.

I would suggest deciding on what message you want to tell the customer and make the style of everything fit.

btw, I've updated the fonts to hopefully be a little less crazy 😄

This is definitely great feedback, @archatas -- much appreciated.

At some point I'll have money to hire a real designer.. until then like many indie hackers, I'm playing designer haha 😄

Will definitely follow up on this shortly.

I really like the copy! The "boring stuff" "fun stuff" is pretty clevor. Design is also great, this is a really solid landing page.

      Thanks, Shane! 🙏

      Awesome -- thanks, Bobby 🙏

I really love the animated screenshots on Dinote btw.

Still doesn't really speak to me. I couldn't describe what you do, even though I understand what you do. Is there a metaphor or an analogous product you could reference?

      Appreciate the feedback, Josh 💪

"Shopify for SaaS" is the best analogy I've been using, but it's difficult to use on our main marketing site because 1) other advice i've seen says that the X for Y pattern is nice for investors but bad for users in terms of cheaping your brand and 2) a lot of people aren't familiar with Shopify and if that's the case, it kind of ends the interest right there.

I'll definitely keep thinking about how we can do a better job of getting our messaging across.

      Thanks! 💯

Hahaha Thanks Ana -- I had a lot of fun making the blogs, so it's great to see people playing with them 😄
