The founders who vibe-code their product vs the ones who sell it

I keep seeing founders vibe-code their MVP in a weekend, feel fast, then stall six months later when it can't scale. Meanwhile the ones who spent that time selling instead are further ahead. Curious what others have seen - did building it yourself actually speed you up, or slow you down?

vibe-coding six months without selling and selling six months without shipping end in the same place - no product, no market. the ones i've seen actually move alternate in short loops. build enough to demo, take it to 5 people, listen to which part they poke at, build for that, repeat.

also worth naming: most stalled mvps don't die on scale. they die at 3 users. scale would be a great problem to have.

I mean, everyone can launch a product now. If you take a weekend to vibecode an app, then your competitor can as well. Why would someone pay for yours? Thats the thing now. Its easy to build, difficult to build and sell something meaningful...

Exactly. The build was never the moat, and now it's not even the hard part. What's scarce is knowing who has the problem, why they'll pay, and getting in front of them repeatedly. That's the part you can't vibe-code in a weekend, and it's why the sellers pull ahead.
