    Very thorough write up!

    Seems to me that most consumers will rely on what's built-in to Gmail and other services, even if it's not great. An exception to that may be high networth individuals that want to ensure their assets are protected, but even then...

      Thanks for the comment. I think that's definitely another valid reason, Gmail already provides some protection and the expectation is that it will get better with time. Always coming back to the example of Grammarly though, browsers do have spell checks integrated but people are still paying for Grammarly to go one step further.

      I include some of the reasons why I thought why my hypotheses failed in the article, but it basically boils down to how difficult it is to sell consumer security products these days. Additionally trying to sell to the people that would most benefit from this solution is probably best done offline or through channel partners, not the acquisition channels I used here.
