PayPal founder and billionaire investor Peter Thiel describes in Zero to One and his many interviews that behind all great businesses there is a secret that has been discovered, harnessed and brought into the world by the founder.
This secret can also be described as a contrarian truth, which is an important truth that very few people agree with you on. At first glance, it seems quite easy to come up with something that you may fit into this category but it's actually a lot harder than you think. I did come up with this example worth 970 Million USD when Twitch sold to Amazon back in 2014:
"People often get more enjoyment out of watching others play games than actually playing the game themselves."
I'm pretty sure there are a lot of contrarian thinkers in this community so I want to ask: What secrets have you found?
